We have recently introduced Hama Beads at home and they are brilliant, we are in love, the kids are in love and they are basically just too good. My Mum remembers me playing for hours with them when I was younger and I can honestly say nothing has changed. Seriously you have to check Hama Beads out :)

The Killing Season 3

The Danish broadcaster DR has released a mini-trailer for the third and apparently final series of Forbrydelsen/The Killing. Having spent a good part of our spare time obsessing over this Scandi TV series in the past we can't wait until season three hits the UK shores. 

In the meantime we will be wearing our fair isle knits in Sarah Lund's honour and preparing ourselves to revisit  the intense world of Scandi-crime. The Tiger Who Came To Tea

After hearing so many good reviews about the theatre production of the much loved Judith Kerr book The Tiger Who Came To Tea we've decided to go and see if it lives up to the book. 

So tickets are booked and we will of course be wearing Mini Rodini's tiger print top to go and visit Sophie and her Mummy. Lets just hope the tiger isn't too scary and that Daddy will take us to a cafe for sausages after the show ;)

Golden Oldies

Whilst in Denmark we visited the local Fleamarket to see what vintage treasure we could discover and happened upon this classic Fisher Price Toy set.  With it's retro styling this is one plastic toy we would be very happy to see in the toy cupboard and it's amazing to think that Fisher Price toys really do seem to stand the test of time.

Despite our love for wooden toys there are definitely some plastic children's toys with style, maybe it's just you need to look back through the years to find them. Who knows maybe that pile of coloured plastic toys that your little ones love (but you hate) will become the cool vintage find of the future!

Despite the weather we've definitely rediscovered our love for the outdoors this Summer. We've played in the sand, run through, the grass, climbed trees and generally got back to basics with the kids. It has really made us realise that sometimes leaving the plastic toys behind, turning off the ipad and the Nintendo DS can inspire simple but fun play.
