Back To School

So just under a week and the kids are back to school. Uniforms are at the ready, pencils have been sharpened and a lunch box has been purchased now it all needs to be packed into our trusty Fjallraven Kanken. Find these brilliant bags online here.

Dotty Over Spots

Ever since we heard about the Louis Vuitton and Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama collaboration we've been going dotty over spots. 

The collection brings Kusama's trademark colours and dot patterns into Marc Jacobs beautiful silhouettes making for an interesting and unique collection. 

Top of the spots this season at Sparkle & Spin is Scotch R'Belle's knitted double breasted cardigan, warm, cosy and oh so stylish we are just dotty for it !!

Here Comes the Paralympics!

After two weeks of post Olympic blues we are very excited about the upcoming Paralympic games. With the opening ceremony scheduled for the 29th of August we will be glued to the tv to watch more outstanding sporting achievements and of course cheering Team GB on!

Birkenstock ♡

Every season we dabble in fashion sandals but by the end of the season we are always back in our trusty Birkenstocks. Total comfort and style you can't go wrong and yes we have been known to rock them with a pair of funky socks!

The  August Bank Holiday weekend always signals the end of the Summer for me, not that we've seen much sun this year. 

We managed a few days at the beach whilst in Denmark and it was just perfect with everything you need from a day by the sea - sandy sandwiches, sandcastles and sunscreen. So make the most of the weekend and wave goodbye to Summer 2012 :)

Tour De Vesterbro 03

Love everything about this place, the food is amazing, the space is simple, the service is friendly. “Mad Synergi” is hidden away from the main streets of Vesterbro Copenhagen, it is another must visit for it’s top cuisine at affordable prices. Its owned by the two chefs Jeppe Grey and Henrik Junker, both with a history of working in Danish Michelin restaurants. Their vision is to offer great gastronomy in a more relaxed cafe style environment, where the prices are kept affordable, making great cuisine available outside the top Danish Restaurants. So if you’re felling peckish on you’re way around Copenhagen stop by here and enjoy :)

Tour De Vesterbro 02

I always forget what a joy it is to be able to just jump on your bike in Denmark without worrying about the cars and buses. It gives me a sense of freedom that I always miss in London. The Danes are knowing for their great design and this bicycle shop is no exception. At the "Cykle Fabrikken" you can choose your own design from scratch from the colour of the frame to the seat. It's the most beautiful bicycle shop I have ever seen. A must visit if you're in Copenhagen and if you can't make it over there then check their website for inspiration for your next custom-made bike. http://www.cykelfabrikken.dk/

"Tour De Vesterbro" 01

So I am still here in Denmark getting use to the Danish way of life. But after 20 years away I am not in the 'know how' anymore. So Agatha took me on a "Tour De Vesterbro". Vesterbro is a part of Copenhagen filled with the most wonderful, shops and coffee bars. First stop was Vaerndamsvej 5 Granola Coffee Bar. It's a must visit if you want a great coffee and a taste of how a cafe would have looked like in the 50'ties. The place is filled with original furniture and fittings from the 50'ties, make sure you sit outside so you can watch all the Danes pass by on their bikes....great place for people watching.

I love going to see my two great friends Per & Agatha when we are in Copenhagen, they live right in the center of town in a beautiful old and very Danish flat. It always changes and there are so many brilliant rooms filled with objects from all the flee markets in Denmark. Walter their 11 year old son's room is too cool and their dinning room is a great space for lovely dinners and chats :) xxx

We have been away for awhile with the school holidays in full swing and the Olympics to watch. We are now back in Denmark and can't get enough of the beautiful sea side. If ever there was a dream house by the sea this is the one :)
