Something for the Weekend.... Nordic Bakery

We recently visited the lovely Nordic Bakery Marylebone and had the best cinnamon bun EVER!! So with all the running around we've been doing this weekend we decided our Something for the Weekend should be somewhere you can relax kick back and enjoy good food and drink so head over there and try delicious open rye bread sandwiches, hearty cinnamon buns and cakes all served with excellent coffee.

We ♥ Riverford!

Since the arrival of our first scamp five years ago we've been a customer of the amazing Riverford Organic fruit & veg boxes. The Riverford box scheme started when Guy Watson began delivering vegetables locally to 30 friends in Devon. They now deliver around 47,000 boxes a week to homes around the UK from their regional sister farms. With an easy to use and informative website Riverford allows you to shop for your fruit, veg and more recently meat and store cupboard goods from the comfort of your armchair whilst being sure that everything has been organically produced and ethically sourced using the tiniest carbon footprint possible.

The Riverford farm in Devon is open for visits and we were lucky enough to join a farm tour and eat at the Field Kitchen last Summer. The food was amazing and the kids loved being shown round the farm, finding out where their vegetables came from and getting a ride on a tractor. If you're ever passing we strongly suggest you pop in for a tour and lunch or supper, you can book on the website. We've never know the kids to eat quite as many green things as they did on our last visit to the farm! So if you like to know where your food comes from and that it's been grown with environmental issues in mind we recommend you get online and try a box or two, they even throw in some mud for free!!

Who says the walkers have to have all the fun?!?! Here at Sparkle & Spin we know that even the little ones like to look fun and funky so we've selected the best crazy and colourful all in ones from our favourite Danish brands. Jump On!

We think it's time to jump on the bandwagon!! Jumpsuits are everywhere and although we don't always like to follow the fashion pack we think this is a great time to jump on.

Something for the Weekend... Head to the South Bank

The South Bank is one of our favourite weekend haunts, we love strolling along by the river and the scamps love checking out the street entertainers. With the Royal Festival Hall, the Tate Modern and the wonderful Jeppe Hein fountain there is so much to do and see. Our latest discovery is the giant sand pit in front of the Festival Hall. It's Good to Talk

We all love to talk, well us girls at Sparkle & Spin certainly do, so we were very excited to hear about a great new app that would enable us to speak to one of our regular customers. Foxy Thanks to Urban Fox Fitness :)

As ever one of our New Year Resolutions was to get in shape, and finally three months into 2011 we got on the case thanks to the brilliant Urban Fox Fitness.

The brainchild of Lucy Miller, Urban Fox Fitness offers a range of classes from 1:1 training, small group sessions and most importantly pre & post natal fitness. Lucy is happy to accommodate babes in buggies and cheeky toddlers and we've found that our scamps enjoy the session as much as we do!! No, there is no hint of sarcasm there, Lucy's friendly yet firm approach and the beautiful park location has made our workouts a highlight of our week and earned them the title 'Yummy Mummy Mondays'.

Thanks to Lucy there is every chance we will be Foxy before the Summer is well and truly here. So check it out and get Foxy Fit!

Flower Power

The sun is shining and we are loving spending time in the garden and the park . This season flower power is back and we have some floral patterns that are just blooming marvellous (excuse the pun!!). Check out Freoli for pretty floral prints and Molo for floral with a hint of attitude!

Boys Will Be Boys!

We all know Boys will be Boys, we've all scrapped off the mud, cleaned up the grazes and picked up the pieces but despite all their rough and tumble we know that boys know what they like when it comes to clothes and comfort and fit is often top of their list!

We spent another day down at Brixton Village Market and just had to share with you the brilliant Circus. Billed as Brixton’s first cardboard shop, Circus is a vibrant, ever-changing space full of beautiful things old and new: furniture, art, ceramics, jewellery, clothes & books – a rich mix of pieces inventively sourced, up-cycled and locally made; presenting an alternative approach to living now. We ♥ it!

Something for the Weekend.... Berlin

A few weekends back we packed our bags and went to visit our lovely friends Lisa & Waheed in Berlin. It is such a beautiful and green city and perfect for the kids. We spent most of the time relaxing but we did hire bikes and visit the Brandenburg Gate and the Tiergarten, a great park area of Berlin. Basically we had a great time and if you ever get the chance head to Berlin, we can't wait for our next visit.
